WARSHIP 

An alien fleet stands poised to invade Federation space. The only vessel available to hold it back is the Liberator, commanded by Roj Blake and his crew.

 

As an intergalactic war breaks out, old enemies become allies, and friends will become separated.

This release consists of two discs: the story on one disc, and a behind the scenes documentary on disc two. Warship may also be bought in a bundlewith all six of the Series 1 full-cast stories.

FACT FILE

 

• Warship was originally planned as part of a Liberator Chronicles boxset. The three stories would have explained what happened after Star One - the Galactic War, the subsequent disappearance of Blake and Jenna and the fate of the Liberator before Aftermath. 

 

• The stories were titled The Galactic War, Jenna's Story and Blake's Story. Peter Anghelides was originally assigned to write Blake's Story.

 

• When the original writer selected for Galactic War turned out to be unavailable, Angehlides volunteered to step in. Mark Wright and Cavan Soctt were subsequently commissioned to write Blake's Story.

 

• The Galactic War Liberator Chronicles would have included narration from Blake, Jenna, Avon, Vila and Cally. Each would have narrated their own story with some interaction from the others.

 

• Andrew Mark Sewell of B7 media suggested it should be a full cast production.

 

• Anghelides pushed for the inclusion of Orac, Zen and Servalan.

 

• The story was renamed Warship and was released as a 2-disc special edition with behind-the-scenes features.

 

• A novelisation was also released as an e-book that was four times the length of the original script.

 

• Jenna's Story (Steve Lyons) and Blake's Story (Mark Wright/Cavan Scott) were subsequently released as part of the Liberator Chronicles: Volume 6. Anghelides provided a replacement script for Galactic War called Incentive.
