  • Seek-Locate-Destroy was watched by 10.9m viewers.

 

  • Stephen Greif got the part of Travis after bumping into Paul Darrow (in the BBC canteen) who suggested he go for it. Greif was also very good friends with Gareth Thomas - not that it showed on screen! 

 

  • Terry Nation had originally written Servalan as a man but changed his mind while writing Seek-Locate-Destroy. Ingrid Pitt was considered for the role of Servalan, who was intended as a one-off character. Jacqueline Pearce was ultimately offered the role of Servalan.

 

  • The scenes at Centero Base were filmed at Fulham Gas Works in London on Mon 5th and Tues 6th December, 1977. 

 

  • The robot was supposed to be partially radio-controlled but ended up being operated by an actor inside. The robot prop moved when pulled along on a wire. Director Vere Lorrimer: “My heart sank when that thing came on." 

  • A press call was held at North Acton with the full cast, Terry Nation & the robot.

 

  • The scenes in the Centero Base and corridors were filmed at Ealing Film Studios from 7-8 December, 1977.

 

  • Studio recording commenced on Wednesday 14 December, 1977. 

 

  • Dudley Simpson & his orchestra recorded the incidental music on 12th Jan 1978.
